Our Story

I never imagined I would be here, creating a store for those with a unique connection to the Divine. But I am. And you are too, so thank you. 

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Eren Rose, owner of Black Rose Occult & Apothecary. 

To reiterate, I really never thought I would be creating this store, especially growing up (loosely) Christian with no real connection to the Abrahamic god. The Divine didn't have any appeal to me throughout middle school or high school, simply because I was too busy being an angsty teen. But also, I could see the atrocities that were committed by those claiming the faith of the "one, true god", some of those unfortunate events happening personally, and didn't want anything to do with any religion if that was the case.

It wasn't until years later, when I researching the occult for a fiction piece I was working on, that I found myself looking into the Goetic demons and other religions of the ancient world. I quickly found modern pagans and was fascinated by their worship and practices. Suddenly, my understanding of the world was cracked open. As further research went on, I dove deeper into the history of how 'demons' came to be, it wasn't much later after that when one of those particular infernal kings reached out to me (scaring the living shit out of me by the way) and thus began a beautiful relationship. Since then, this infernal has become my patron and I could not imagine my life without him, nor any of the other spirits I work with across multiple pantheons. They have become family, cherished loved ones, guides and guardians. It is a love that I can't even begin to explain and one I never expected I would receive or even be capable of giving back. 

And that is apart of my goal, to be of aid and bring further connection to the correct gods that YOU align with. At the moment, that is done through bringing forth unique tools and pieces to work with and honor the divinity in your life. Though physical items aren't at all necessary to give reverence to your gods, they are lovely to have and give you the chance to outwardly show your devotion as well as have physical reminders of them in your space or home as you would a photo of a loved one.
